Species & Ecosystems

If you're looking for general information about species we're studying, please view our archive of Wildlife Posts. These are quarterly research updates we've been producing since 2002.

Our Wildlife Posts include information on otters, abalone, eelgrass, sandpipers, scoters, harbor seals, and much more.

Coming soon we'll have pages devoted to each of the major species in our study area. In the meantime, you can scan the list below to see if we have any content about a species you're interested in.

Just click on the species name and you'll get a new page showing any found items.

Why our work matters

Healthy ecosystems support economic prosperity. The Salish Sea provides abundant natural capital that contributes substantially to the financial prosperity of the region. Unhealthy ecosystems cost money because we lose the opportunity to benefit from them. The Salish Sea's deteriorating health threatens our economic well being and quality of life. SeaDoc uses science to find solutions to the problems facing the fish, wildlife and people of the Salish Sea.
