Stellers are the world’s largest species of sea lion. Early observers called them sea lions because the males grow large, furry manes, but when we compare these top predators to land animals, we think of them as the grizzlies of the sea. Join us for a night in celebration of all things Steller, including the debut of our Salish Sea Wild series (check out our teaser video), which features Team SeaDoc diving with dozens of these magnificent creatures. Here’s a clip from our dive off Hornby Island. We’ll have Joe Gaydos, Bob Friel and others on stage to take you on this adventure.
This event is FREE and family-friendly. Concessions and bar will be open. Doors open at 6:30 and the video starts at 7pm and will be over by 8.
Sponsors: Dean and Audrey Stupke, Jim and Kathy Youngren, Barbara Brown, Barbara Bently, West Sound Marina, The Averna Family (Deer Harbor Charters), Madrona Inn Bar & Grill, Shearwater Kayak Tours, San Juan County Marine Resources Committee.
