Saturday June 7th was the black-tie gala celebrating the 62nd annual Emmy Awards ceremony for the Northwest Chapter of the Television Academy of Arts and Sciences. Going slightly off-fashion in blue tie to rep the ocean, SeaDoc’s Bob Friel was there as producer of our science-adventure series Salish Sea Wild!, which received not one but two nominations for best documentary in the long-form environmental category.
And the Emmy went to… one of the many PBS documentaries nominated in a crowded field full of media organizations. It’s a testament to our work that SeaDoc’s small team is in such company!
“Congratulations to the winner!” says Friel, who’s much more comfortable in a wetsuit than a tuxedo. “We’re thrilled we got the two nominations. It shows that the series we created to further SeaDoc’s primary wildlife health mission can also compete with the big dogs when it comes to offering compelling television."
Thanks to the thousands who've watched Salish Sea Wild and to all who support our mission. More coming soon!
